A product of Filipino immigrant families, Emmanuel (Manny) Cua has risen to be one of the best materials and process engineers in his line of work. Manny has an undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley from 2008 and completed his graduate studies from the University of Washington, Seattle in 2010. Manny has been providing engineering services since 2007 with a focus on aerospace products since 2009. His professional portfolio focuses on mission critical products including Liquid Rocket Engines, Solid Rocket Motors, Missile Defense Propulsion, Military Inlets and Exhausts, Air-Breathing Turbine Engines, Suborbital Launch Vehicles, and Orbital Launch Vehicles. Manny’s career experience has developed his expertise to be fully aware of the role materials and processes play when it comes to the success of high stakes engineering applications. Launching his career in high emissivity coatings in Sacramento, CA in 2009, he has since then branched into other materials technologies while deepening his roots in coatings both in Indianapolis, IN for LO platforms and Kent, WA for Oxygen Service. He has served as an individual contributor, principal investigator, mentor, and senior manager to enable others (direct reports or otherwise) to be successful with his mastery of general materials and processes inclusive of coatings, metals, non-metals, fundamental research, materials characterization, materials and process selection, process development, and production support. Manny is a Licensed Professional Engineer in the States of California and Washington, a member of the Association of Filipino-American Engineers of Washington and the Engineering Honors Society Tau Beta Pi, and is a proud member of the LGBTQ community.
